Winter Solstice
Winter Solstice means the Winter Magic Festival. The main street of Katoomba fills up with witches, warlocks, goblins and elfs to celebrate a great pagan tradition.
The belly dancers were so brave. It was pretty cold.

Keziah! Lovely photos!
But! those weren’t bellydancers..they were Urban/Tribal dancers…Rommeny dancers…
The tierd skirts and camel tassels and coin choli gave them away…sisters in dance, anyway.
Belly dancers are the Turkish and Egyptian variety..others are Tribal Dancers….different forms and extensions from classical Belly Dance…
But! Legitimate as much as classical…the Tribal or Rhomney (different spellings) come from the Rom tribe in India. that came thru Turkey to Istambul..into Romania and Bulgaria and Hungary..also into spain and
did the flamenco route..
Belly dancers wouldn’t were those hair pieces…
But! they are all beautiful..and very vigorous dancers…just very different forms.!
Jane…(of the Turkish variety…)
