		<description>Hi Keziah,
Hope you are now settled into your new job. I had a quiet new year too. Played 27 holes of golf in 40 plus degree heat and then spent the evening in a country golf club listening to an Elvis impersonator (the Las Vegas years, I'm afraid). He wasnt bad, but if I'd driven 70 kms up the road, I could have had a Robbie Williams impersonator instead. Didn't know that until the next day, though. Sigh.
Of the books you read, how would you rate The Thirteenth Tale and My Sister's Keeper? These are the only ones we have in common. I adored The Thirteenth Tale - so wonderfully atmospheric - but the conclusion to My Sister's Keeper left me furious. When I'd finished it, my girlfriend pressed another Jodi Picoult on me (The Pact), but after two chapters I gave it back to her because I was so worried she was going to do something horrible to me again like she had in My Sister's Keeper.
Did you end up reading Irene Nemirovsky's Suite Francaise? For some reason I am positive I saw it on your 2007 list once before....I'm reading that next when I've finished Tim Winton's Dirt Music.
