Being a baby boomer
Went to see Simon and Garfunkel last night. I wouldn’t have thought of going, but I got a ticket as a birthday present. They were terrific but I couldn’t help looking around and smiling wryly at the audience. Since S&G are both 67, most people there were on the other side of 45.
But S&G’s voices were amazing. They don’t seem to have aged at all. Art Garfunkel still has that sweet soaring voice that seems so pure. And Paul Simon did some Gracelands songs which were great.
As for me, a dreaded lurgy has struck. Maybe it’s swine flu but since that’s a disease which has long since got away from us, I’m not all that worried. Everyone around me is sick so it’s fluids and as much rest as I can get, which won’t be much over the next couple of days.
