Book buying frenzy
Gleebooks in Blackheath is having a big sale of new and second hand books. I strolled past, which was my first mistake and got sucked into browsing the tables outside in the arcade. Picked up Elizabeth Burton’s The Georgians at Home; Lisa Scottoline’s Daddy’s Girl; John Batchelor’s Lady Trevelyan and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Elaine Feinstein’s Anna of All the Russias: A Life of Anna Akhmatova.
Then made the second mistake of going into the shop and getting Chloe Hooper’s The Tall Man and Wendy Moore’s Wedlock: How Georgian Britain’s Worst Husband Met His Match.
I was only in Better Read Than Dead on Thursday and bought Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo (I must be the only one in the world who hasn’t read it yet); Peter Temple’s Truth and Patricia Brigg’s Cry Wolf. Thanks Sarah for pointing her in my direction.
Now after this binge the bank is empty, so best to settle in and read them all. Either that or they join my horrendous to be read pile (more like a whole bookshelf).
And I got some words written today. No discussion in case I curse myself.

You’re not the only person who hasn’t read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s on my list, but I haven’t bought it yet, and at the rate I’m getting through my TBR pile, I may get to read it sometime around 2023.
Good on you for getting words written. I must go and do the same myself.
Thanks Bron. So far GWDT is great. Good luck with your words!
